The Bowflex Revolution has many great features. It is easy to set up, easy to switch and can be changed for different exercises. It is an elegant and modern piece of equipment that will help you do lighter reps and get a good workout.
I like that I can do almost everything with this one device. Moving the arms and the bench between workouts is quick and easy. Adding and removing weights takes a little longer than a machine with a weight stack.
Resistance is not the same as what you’ll find with free weights or in a weight machine. They look more natural than the old “soloflex” rubber bands.
Although it feels like a “real” weight sensation, the weight/resistance increases slightly as you move through the movement. You will weigh less at the beginning of the movement and gradually gain more weight towards the end.
So far I am very impressed with the Bowflex Revolution. It also folds up really well, which is a bonus. It may take some getting used to if you’re familiar with linear movements with free weights, but they can be just as effective, if not more. The only problem I found was that it is difficult to do lat pulldowns with this device, but that’s a minor limitation. Also, I usually use dumbbells in addition to the machine.
There are some parts that need to be made from more durable materials. However, since the warranty is 10 years, the manufacturer sends you the replacement parts.
